Jennifer BarrJennifer Barr has 15 years of experience in the creation, implementation and management of the human resources function in high growth environments. Jennifer is a true generalist with a broad background in several industries as a Director of Human Resources, and experience in all aspects of human resources from staffing & training to organizational development and strategic planning.

Jennifer’s great strength is her ability to work at all levels of the organization, building trust and credibility with employees from corporate officers to hourly workers. She excels in effective communication, training and problem-solving. Jennifer has a knack of turning seemingly insurmountable problems into effective and workable solutions utilizing available resources to achieve organizational goals and timelines.

Jennifer has a Business Administration education from Temple University and master-level coursework in Human Resource Management from Villanova University. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.

Neil Bodine
Sacramento, California

Neil Bodine is a principal of Beeson, Tayer & Bodine, a law firm which specializes in the representation of public and private sector labor unions. Neil has negotiated collective bargaining agreements for 25 years. He has designed and implemented innovative alternative dispute resolution processes in private sector workplaces. He has conducted many seminars and workshops in various aspects of labor-relations, including joint labor-management training in interest-based problem solving and improving labor-management relations. Utilizing an interest-based process, Neil acts as a neutral facilitator in mediating employment and labor disputes. He has been a part-time instructor in labor relations for the University of California at Davis since 1979, and acts as President and co-founder of the Center for Collaborative Solutions.

Deborah DeArmond
Martinez, California

Deborah DeArmond has an impressive 20-year track record in the training and development field. Deborah has considerable experience in training design and delivery, needs analysis, facilitation, assessment and measurement of training effectiveness. She specializes in leadership topics including communication, coaching, delegating and change management.

Deborah is a master trainer for Development Dimensions International (DDI) training programs as well as a Certified Instructor for the Northern California Training Council. She has provided leadership development and training for senior executives, managers, supervisors and line employees. Training and development for those in the training profession is an area of expertise for her, and she has certified 300+ instructors across the country. Deborah received her education in Communications and Organizational Leadership from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, California, and holds numerous training and development certifications.

Maggie Jacobsen
Port Ludlow, Washington

Maggie JacobsenMaggie Jacobsen has mediated thousands of disputes in a broad range of industries and unions, in private and public sectors. Prior to retirement, she served as Chairwoman of the National Mediation Board, and as a Commissioner with the Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service. As a major focus of her mediation efforts she sought to understand the underlying causes of conflict and when possible introduced remedial processes to help parties change their practices through training and facilitation. Maggie has also held leadership positions in employee and labor relations with the City & County of San Francisco and Continental Airlines and served as an Officer of the Steward and Stewardess Division of the Airline Pilots Association. She holds an M.A. in Human Resources Management, Golden Gate University, and a B.A. in Organizational Behavior, University of San Francisco. Maggie presently serves on the Board of Directors of US Airways, is a member and past President of the Industrial Relations Research Association and served as a Board Member of New York University School of Law Center for Labor and Employment Law.

Ed Miller
Modesto, California

Ed MillerEd Miller, prior to retirement, served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Tri-Valley Growers. His combined years of experience include interest-based bargaining and several key industrial relations and personnel positions. He is now a Consultant and Mediator/Arbitrator in the public and private sectors. Ed is an active and founding member of the Center for Collaborative Solutions and is deeply committed to improving the quality of life in the workplace. He holds a Masters of Business Administration and received his Ph.D. in 1986. Dr. Miller has taught Management, Human Resources, and Collective Bargaining at Golden Gate University, San Francisco and at California State University, Stanislaus.
