Therese M. Miller
Therese Miller is the owner and principal consultant of Horizon Partners, a firm specializing in assessment,
training, facilitation, and development of organizations
ability to envision and implement positive change. |
Therese is a tested and proven human resources practitioner with
comprehensive experience as a strategic member of corporate
leadership teams. She has a strong, results-oriented business
perspective developed through corporate and field positions in
several industries. She is the former Vice President of Human
Resources for The JPM Company where she led the development and
implementation of an integrated human resources strategy for
this newly global electronics assembly company. Prior to working
with JPM, Therese grew up in the Human Resources function over
twenty years with a major telecommunications company and two
well-respected manufacturing companies.
Therese holds an MBA with a concentration in Organizational
Behavior and Industrial Relations from the University of
California, Berkeley, and a BA in Business Administration from
California State University, Stanislaus. She is a co-owner of
Appreciative Inquiry Consulting, and a member of the Institute
of Management Consultants, the Society for Human Resource
Management, the American Society for Training & Development, the
Association for Conflict Resolution, and the Organization
Development Network. She is an adjunct faculty member of the
School of Business and Computer Technology at the Pennsylvania
College of Technology. Therese also serves on the Executive
Committees of the Central Pennsylvania Workforce Investment
Board, Susquehanna Valley Women in Transition, and is a member
of the Perkins Participatory Planning Committee at Penn College.
Therese prides herself on being a practical visionary with the
ability to conceptualize, plan and implement effective and
profitable organization change. She is a team player who easily
establishes rapport and credibility with diverse groups ranging
from company officers to union officers. She excels at situation
analysis and innovative problem resolution. Her approach and
interventions are based on sound judgment, a complete technical
grounding and an understanding of impact on business results and
opportunities.
She is also extremely proud of her vegetable gardening skills,
which she practices regularly at the break of dawn most mornings
when she is not in some exotic airport lounge or hotel. Therese
resides and gardens on Dancing Bear Farm in central
Pennsylvania.
